Pistachio spread sold in the UAE is completely safe. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment confirmed this, easing concerns after a salmonella recall in the U.S. made headlines. The ministry clarified that the contaminated batch was never imported into the country.

According to the ministry, the affected product — a pistachio and kadayif chocolate spread manufactured in Turkey — is not available in UAE stores. World Market stores in the U.S. distributed the product, which was inspired by the viral Dubai chocolate trend, but it has not been imported into the Emirates.
Dubai Chocolate Unaffected by Recall
The ministry said it conducted thorough checks across local markets and found no trace of the recalled pistachio spread. It also reassured consumers that food safety inspections remain in place for all imported items. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment emphasized that there is no threat to public health in the UAE related to the recall.
The viral Dubai chocolate, which has exploded in popularity on social media, remains unaffected. The original version — made with creamy pistachio spread, crunchy kadayif, tahini, and rich chocolate — was created by Fix Dessert Chocolatier, a Dubai brand now known internationally. The company assured customers that it did not supply the recalled product and that it follows strict safety and hygiene standards in its production.
In the U.S., the recall began after three out of 24 jars tested positive for salmonella. The FDA classified it as a Class I recall, indicating a high level of risk. However, health authorities have reported no illnesses in the UAE. And they have confirmed that none of the recalled batches entered the country.
Local retailers, including those selling Fix Dessert Chocolatier treats, report no impact on supply or sales. The brand’s famous Dubai chocolate remains a crowd favorite. It attracts both residents and tourists with its viral appeal and trusted quality.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has urged consumers to remain confident in the safety of UAE products. It also reiterated that regular testing will continue, especially for imported specialty goods like pistachio spread.
As the global spotlight remains on Dubai chocolate, local producers like Fix Dessert Chocolatier are seeing increased demand. With oversight from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the UAE ensures food quality and consumer safety during global alerts.
