Dubai pace bowler Mahidhaar Dommaraju, only 12 years old, is turning heads with a rare ability to bowl with both hands. Trained at Desert Cubs Cricket Academy by former Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Ijaz, Mahidhaar is not just another promising youngster—he is redefining what it means to be a pace bowler. He consistently switches between right-arm and left-arm pace in the same over, leaving even experienced batters stunned.
What makes Mahidhaar special is not just his ambidextrous bowling but also his dedication. The young Dubai pace bowler dreams of playing for India and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, following in the footsteps of his idol, Virat Kohli.
Dubai Pace Bowler: First of His Kind in UAE Cricket
Many fans and coaches believe no other Dubai pace bowler has shown this kind of ambidextrous speed. While players like Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis can bowl spin with both arms, Mahidhaar is rare among pace bowlers. His smooth left-arm action mirrors the best in the world, while his natural right-arm pace remains equally sharp.
His father, Ramprasad Dommaraju, a former club cricketer from Chennai, was amazed when Mahidhaar first bowled left-arm at the age of six. Since then, the youngster has dominated age-group cricket in the UAE, Oman, and Sri Lanka.
Pace Bowlers Who Bowl with Two Hands Are Rare
Globally, very few pace bowlers have been able to bowl with two hands effectively. Pakistan’s Yasir Jan briefly captured attention for this unique skill but faded due to injuries. Mahidhaar’s coach, Ijaz, believes the key difference is Mahidhaar’s discipline and strong family support. “He bowls fast with both arms. That’s something I’ve never seen in my years of coaching,” said Ijaz.
Dubai Bowler Has Family, Passion, and Potential
This rising Dubai bowler is supported wholeheartedly by his parents. Despite financial challenges, his father ensures daily training, while his mother, a dentist, supports the dream. His ambition, matched with hard work, could soon see this young talent rise to professional cricket. If he maintains focus, the cricket world might quickly witness the emergence of a truly one-of-a-kind Dubai pace bowler.
