Authorities found the bakery breaking hygiene rules. These violations put public health at risk. The bakery was known for its traditional Egyptian bread and pastries. Inspectors from the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority had flagged multiple high-risk violations in earlier visits but saw no improvement during follow-up inspections.

“Closing the Egyptian Bakery was necessary to protect consumers,” ADAFSA said in an official statement. The authority confirmed the decision was made under Law No. (2) of 2008, which governs food safety in the emirate.

The bakery will stay closed until all problems are fixed and it meets food safety standards. ADAFSA has promised the public that inspections will keep happening at all food businesses in Abu Dhabi to make sure that health and hygiene standards are met.

The Egyptian Bakery, popular with nearby residents for its affordable prices and freshly baked goods, must now take immediate corrective action to resume operations.

Authorities have also encouraged the public to report food safety issues through the government hotline 800 555. They are also saying that community involvement is key to keeping Abu Dhabi’s food sector safe and trustworthy.
