Ras Al Khaimah Police Officer Raises UAE Flag on Elbrus

On August 1, Major Ibrahim Saif Al Mazrouei of the Ras Al Khaimah Police reached a major milestone by scaling Mount Elbrus, Europe’s highest peak at 5,642 metres.

He completed the tough five-day expedition through the Russian mountains, becoming the first Ras Al Khaimah police officer to conquer one of the Seven Summits. At the top, he proudly raised the UAE flag and the RAK Police emblem, symbolising national pride and professional commitment.

Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi praised Al Mazrouei’s determination and strength in overcoming such a demanding challenge.

Reflecting on his success, Al Mazrouei said he felt proud to represent the UAE and RAK Police. “Raising the UAE flag and RAK Police logo on Mount Elbrus is my way of thanking our leadership for their support. This achievement came through pure ambition, and I aim to complete the Seven Summits challenge,” he said.

The climb was far from easy. He braved harsh winds, freezing temperatures, thin air, and steep terrain — a true test of his endurance and resolve.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Al Mazrouei described his intense training. He climbed daily to heights of 4,000–5,000 metres and returned to lower altitudes to sleep, helping his body adjust.

On July 31 at 11pm, he began the final push. After nearly 11 hours of grueling ascent, he reached the summit at 10am on August 1.

Al Mazrouei’s success reflects not only his courage but also his dedication to the Seven Summits goal. This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to the adventurous spirit of Ras Al Khaimah Police .
