A Russian passenger plane crashed on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in the Amur region of Russia’s Far East. The incident killed all 49 people on board, including five children and six crew members. During its final approach to Tynda, the aircraft, which was an Antonov An-24 and operated by Angara Airlines, which is based in Siberia, vanished from radar. It was on its way from Blagoveshchensk to Tynda, which is a remote town close to the border with China.

 There was a mountaintop in a densely wooded area where a rescue helicopter found the smoking fuselage of the jet. The location was approximately 16 kilometers away from the target. Around fifty people, multiple cars, and four aircraft were dispatched to the location. Rescue workers were unable to locate any survivors  Following the tragic event, the governor of the region, Vasily Orlov, established a period of mourning lasting for three days.

 The preliminary findings of the investigation indicate that the disaster was most likely caused by a crew error.
