As flash floods unleashed chaos across the Northern Emirates, during the historic Fujairah rainfall, the nation responded with remarkable unity and urgency. Rescue teams worked around the clock, saving nearly 900 people from rising waters. In contrast, more than 3,800 others—many of them families—found safety in temporary shelters set up across Fujairah and Sharjah. It was a powerful moment that showcased the UAE’s resilience, compassion, and swift action in the face of one of nature’s most unforgiving tests. After two continuous days of heavy rainfall in Fujairah, the port station registered 255.2mm of rain — the highest recorded in the UAE for July. Masafi followed with 209.7mm, while Fujairah Airport saw the third-highest total at 187.9mm. Marking one of the most significant instances of heavy rainfall in UAE history. The floods damaged infrastructure and stranded residents, forcing many to seek refuge in hotels—several of which raised their prices due to the surge in demand. In the Fujairah flood, caused by record-breaking rainfall in Fujairah, overturned vehicles were seen scattered across affected areas. According to the UAE’s Ministry of Interior, seven individuals of Asian origin tragically lost their lives due to the floods. Brigadier General Dr. Ali Salem Al Tunaiji, director general of the Ministry’s Federal Central Operations, stated that six victims had been confirmed at the time. The Ministry extended condolences to the families affected by the Fujairah flood disaster.
