Sudan’s Port Sudan Authority has made charges, which the United Arab Emirates has categorically denied. Sudan has accused the United Arab Emirates of providing support to armed organisations that are participating in the civil war. They also claimed the UAE hired Colombian mercenaries for the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The United Arab Emirates referred to these assertions as “baseless public relations stunts”. Because there was no proof to support them. It was stated that the claims are intended to divert attention away from the role that the Port Sudan Authority had in extending the conflict.
This position is supported by international organisations. Sudan’s argument against the United Arab Emirates was rejected by the International Court of Justice. The United Nations Panel of Experts came to the conclusion that there was no evidence against the United Arab Emirates.
It was emphasised by the UAE that the Port Sudan Authority does not legitimately represent the government of Sudan. This statement reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to a political settlement led by civilians and an urgent ceasefire in Sudan.
It was advised by the United Arab Emirates that the international community support peace initiatives. Non biased that are not controlled by any party. In addition to condemning attempts to sabotage peace talks, it demanded that people be protected. Those are responsible for violence accept responsibility.
