The Fujairah Environment Authority has taken strict legal action against several unlicensed companies violating environmental and sustainable water‑resource use laws in UAE.
Environmental compliance teams have found several non-emirate firms operating without the right permits in recent inspections. Officials attested that the companies were conducting business without the Authority’s approval and other agencies. The operation is meant to ensure that businesses follow set legal protocols and operate responsibly in Fujairah.
Protecting Water Resources in UAE
The Authority emphasized that to protect groundwater and other important water resources in UAE. The inspectors proceeded promptly in imposing fines.
The Fujairah Environment Authority confirmed that they sue under Law No. 2 of 2011, which regulates groundwater use and conservation. Federal Law No. 24 of 1999, which deals with environmental protection and development in the UAE.
Offenders, as provided under these laws, are punished with imprisonment for violation of a law is punishable with at least one year in prison and between Dh2,000 and Dh100,000 in fines.

The Fujairah Environment Authority has ordered the offending companies to urgently correct their legal status by securing the necessary approvals. This step ensures that businesses remain compliant while contributing to the sustainable use of resources in the emirate.
