At just 18, Indian student Wayne Nash D’Souza became a Dubai millionaire after taking a chance and purchasing a Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire ticket.
Wayne, a Dubai-born Indian, before moving to the US to study aerospace engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, bought the ticket, saying, “We usually buy tickets for fun, but since I was leaving for four years, I thought I’d try it myself.”
The bold decision paid off. The moment Wayne learned about his win, he was in Los Angeles preparing for university life. Filled with joy, he said, “It still hasn’t fully sunk in. I was just hoping to start a new chapter—and now I’m starting it as a millionaire.”
The Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw, known for transforming lives, has once again made headlines with Wayne’s win. As a young indian student entering one of the world’s top engineering programs, he now begins his academic journey with not just ambition, but a $1 million head start.
Dubai Duty Free officials congratulated Wayne and praised the draw’s global appeal. As a young Indian student heading to a top university, Wayne now begins his academic journey with a $1 million head start.
“Thank you so much, Dubai Duty Free. “This money will definitely be put to good use,” said the young Indian student, who became the latest Dubai millionaire by winning the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw.
When asked about plans for the prize money, he says he would use the money for his and his sister’s education and invest part of it in Dubai property.
Wayne became the 255th Indian national to win $1 million through the Millennium Millionaire promotion since its launch in 1999. Indian nationals continue to lead as the highest number of ticket buyers for the draw.
