One Freezone Passport Unifies Dubai Free Zones for Business

Dubai has taken a significant step to make business simpler. With the new One Freezone Passport, companies in Dubai can now work across multiple free zones using a single license. That means less paperwork, fewer delays, and more room to grow.

Dubai’s One Freezone Passport lets companies operate in all free zones with one license — saving time and enabling faster growth.

Launched by the Dubai Free Zones Council on July 22, 2025, the initiative aims to make cross-zone business smoother and more efficient. Instead of registering separately in each zone, businesses can now use a single license to work across them all.

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton was the first to join. The company successfully moved its regional headquarters from the Jebel Ali Free Zone to the Dubai World Trade Centre Free Zone. The transition took only five days, thanks to the new passport system.

This would have been a complex process before. Previously, a company needed separate approvals and licenses to work in both the Dubai World Trade Centre and Jebel Ali Free Zone. Now, the passport removes those barriers, giving companies in Dubai more flexibility to grow.

The system is part of Dubai’s wider D33 economic plan, which aims to double the emirate’s economy over the next decade. Officials say the One Freezone Passport will attract more global businesses and help existing companies in Dubai scale faster.

The passport is currently available for non-financial zones. Free zones such as the Dubai World Trade Centre and Jebel Ali Free Zone are among the first to adopt the new system. More are expected to come on board in the near future.

To apply, businesses can contact their current free zone authority. Approvals are managed jointly, making the process quicker and more transparent.

With this move, Dubai is building a more connected and competitive business environment. One where opportunity moves as freely as the people behind it.
