Sharjah Police uncovered a global drug smuggling operation. They intercepted a maritime shipment linked to Canada and Spain. They arrested a man who shielded his scheme using his wife and two young children and seized 131 kg of narcotics and nearly 10,000 capsules.

Investigators traced the route from Toronto to Málaga to the UAE. The drugs were hidden inside car spare parts containers. The concealment was sophisticated. Tactics included GPS-tagged drop tools.
The Sharjah Police led an intelligence-based operation with international partners. They monitored the suspect’s family movements for weeks and moved in as soon as the container arrived.
They detained seven suspects. Most are Asian nationals. One key suspect is Arab. All now await judicial proceedings. The investigation continues across borders.
Authorities described the haul: 131 kg of narcotics, over 9,945 psychotropic capsules, concealment devices, and GPS tools.
The suspect used his family as cover. Undercover teams followed his wife and children to avoid detection.
The operation reflects the growing strength of Sharjah Police. It is part of a large anti-narcotics force. In 2024, they seized more than 1,240 kg of drugs and arrested over 680 people.
Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam praised the teamwork. He noted the readiness of the Sharjah Police to foil complex smuggling threats.
Authorities urged the public to report suspicious activities. They emphasized that cooperation helps keep the community safe.
