The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a UAE weather alert this morning, warning of dense fog in several parts of the country and predicting a chance of rain in the some affected areas.
According to the NCM, fog was reported over Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region this morning. Additionally, the yellow fog alert was over the Habshan and Liwa regions.
The met authority issued red and yellow fog alerts for the early morning hours in parts of Abu Dhabi. The emirate’s police advised motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility during the fog and follow reduced speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
However, certain regions may see rain, but soaring temperatures will still affect most parts of the UAE. In Abu Dhabi’s Ghasoura and Mezaira, the mercury could climb to a sweltering 49ºC.Dubai will experience highs of around 43ºC, while temperatures in Abu Dhabi will reach up to 44ºC.
Forecasters also predict humid weather conditions for tonight and Monday, July 21.
Winds will change direction from southeast to northwest, maintaining a light to moderate pace between 10 and 25 km/h, with occasional gusts reaching up to 40 km/h that may cause dust to blow in some areas.
Sea conditions will be calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
