UAE weather alert issued as scattered rain showers sweep across several parts of the country, bringing a welcome break from the intense summer heat. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported rain in Sharjah and Fujairah early Monday morning, August 4, with rainfall today also reaching Khor Fakkan and several internal areas of Sharjah.
The NCM issued alerts for convective (rain-bearing) clouds in the eastern regions, predicting a chance of more rain in Al Ain, Dubai, and surrounding areas. This comes after the rain in Al Ain yesterday brought much-needed relief from the heat for residents.
AccuWeather forecasts show that temperatures could soar between 49°C and 37°C in coastal and island areas, range from 45°C to 40°C in inland regions, and stay between 34°C and 39°C in the mountains.
Humidity will rise by night and into Tuesday morning, especially in coastal and inland areas, where levels could reach up to 90% along the coast.
Sea will remain slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
UAE Weather is in its hottest period, as mercury soared to its highest level so far this year on Friday, August 1, at a sweltering 51.8°C in Al Ain’s Sweihan at 3pm.
