DUBAI: Sudden weather changes on Sunday caused heavy rain in parts of the UAE, while other areas saw heat close to 50°C. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a UAE weather alert as convective clouds developed over the eastern and southern areas.

UAE weather enthusiasts and experts are enjoying the recent shifts in climate, as heavy UAE rainfall, hail, and strong winds surprise many residents. Meanwhile, a contrasting UAE weather alert remains in effect for other parts of the country facing hot weather in the UAE, with temperatures nearing 50°C.

Temperatures dropped to 27.2°C in Ras Al Khaimah’s Jais Mountain today, while soaring to a scorching 49.6°C in Mezaira (Al Dhafra region) by 3pm. In response to the hot weather in the UAE, health officials urged residents to stay hydrated during peak sunlight hours.

Residents in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and parts of Al Ain reported short but heavy bursts of rain. Light showers have been taking place across some parts of the country today. The NCM has reported rainfall in Ras Al Khaimah’s Showkah and Wadi Isfay.

Authorities urged motorists to drive cautiously due to low visibility and slippery roads.
