Artificial Intelligence in UAE Leads Education Reform at Every Stage

Artificial Intelligence in UAE Transforms Education

The role of artificial intelligence in UAE is growing fast, and now, it’s making its way into classrooms at every level. Starting from the 2025–26 academic year, students in public schools across the country will study AI as a core subject, from kindergarten all the way to Grade 12.

Artificial Intelligence in UAE Transforms Education

But the transformation doesn’t stop at school. More than 40 university programmes in the UAE now offer specialised degrees in AI, including bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD tracks. Leading the charge is Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), which has already earned international recognition.

Preparing future-ready learners

This bold move is all about preparing young people for a world that’s changing fast. By teaching students how AI works from algorithms to ethics — the UAE hopes to build a generation that’s not just comfortable with technology, but ready to shape it.

Officials say the goal is simple: make sure artificial intelligence in UAE isn’t just something students hear about, but something they understand and can use. It’s part of the broader vision for a knowledge-based economy, aligned with the country’s long-term national strategies.

Artificial intelligence in UAE trains teachers too

Educators are getting support too. In Dubai, the “AI for Teachers” initiative is already underway, helping teachers integrate AI into their lessons. Those who lead the way will be rewarded under Dubai’s Artificial Intelligence initiative. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has launched its teacher training programme, giving schools the tools to personalise learning using AI.

Feedback so far has been positive, with many teachers saying AI helps them better understand student needs and improve classroom engagement.

Big picture strategy

Beyond schools and universities, this is part of something much larger. Since launching its national strategy for AI in 2017, the UAE has made it clear that artificial intelligence in UAE isn’t just a trend, it’s a long-term investment. From healthcare to transport to government services, the country is working to integrate AI into every major sector.

And education, it seems, is now right at the heart of that vision.
